For normal to minimally dry skin, regular cetomacrogol or lanette cream without added petrolatum is sufficient. For dry to very dry skin, a cream with added petrolatum (greasy cream) or an ointment is a better option. Use the greasy cream or ointment at least twice a day.

Cetomacrogol cream is available with 20% petroleum jelly, 10% petroleum jelly, or 50% petroleum jelly. The 10% petroleum jelly is suitable for normal to dry skin, while the 50% petroleum jelly is for very dry skin.

Fagron Cetomacrogol cream with 10, 20, or 50% petrolatum is formulated without the preservative propylene glycol to prevent hypersensitivity reactions. These variations are preserved with sorbic acid.

Cetomacrogol cream with 20% petrolatum is recommended as a basic skincare product. It can complement, but not replace, medicinal treatment.
